A Silly Paradox of Adulthood: Retirement

We spend two-thirds of our lives learning massive amounts of information, taking in vast knowledge, experiencing great things and developing wonderful memories.

Then, just at the point of “knowing it all,” we do something stupid: we quit (read: retire).

When we’re at the top of our game, we should do something useful, like pass on our valuable intelligence, knowledge and experiential experience.

Some do: coaching and teaching kids.

Most do nothing except enjoy the fruits of retirement: burn through retirement money each month, stroke a few putts, swim some laps, play cards with friends, take cruises to the Bahamas.

Seems like such a waste of great energy, retirement, making it a silly paradox of adulthood.

Get out there and be a mentor to us kids!

Please.

Thank you!
