282 Damn-Good Reasons to Love Ancient Babylon
Dayum, to be around that King Hammurabi when he dictated his 282 laws that would set the stage for modern rule of law in the western world. Dayum. His scribes went through many a clay and stone tablet, and reams of papyrus and parchment before committing all that cuneiform to black stone for the king.
If you wish to understand the relative “fairness” of life at any period in history, just read the laws governing its people. One must wonder how Hammurabi arrived at only 282 laws, many of which are extensions of the same issue, given the million-plus laws in the US alone. As I sit here writing to you, I am probably committing several felonies at once. Happy to oblige. Continue reading 282 Damn-Good Reasons to Love Ancient Babylon
Ahhhh, ‘Twas the Fall of 1944 and Nat Geo Ran Romania

I love these two books on POWER. Pops had me read both when I was a child, and they changed my life and attitude forever, not to mention schooled me on how best to conduct myself in. Written back in the day, their firm words still resonate today, right down to your DNA, as Pops says. Continue reading THE TWO MOST HIGHLY INFLUENTIAL BOOKS ON POWER

For subversives everywhere, provided you can entiende English. The Office of Strategic Services (OSS) operated clandestinely in WWII and was the precursor to the CIA. CIA’s Funniest Home Quotes and Quips from Performance Appraisal Reports
2014 was the Year of The Great Purge for the CIA, and I don’t mean Culinary Institute of America. They dumped thousands of documents for all good Americans to see and laugh at.
Two docs stood out from the miasma of chaff and ash. The internally published Studies in Intelligence: A collection of articles on the historical, operational, doctrinal, and theoretical aspects of intelligence featured two volumes of “Par-Faits and Other Faits.” Continue reading CIA’s Funniest Home Quotes and Quips from Performance Appraisal Reports
